The main purpose of the Center of Advanced Studies in Prospects, Scenarios and Competitiveness (CEAPEC, by its Spanish acronym) is to assist in the creation, by means of courses, seminars and/or diplomas, of critical strategic habits and institutional relationships extended as a result of the synergy of academic, scientific and extension activities, in order to think the future with a more dynamic, disruptive and creative roadmap. The experiences of most innovative and successful countries, companies and leaders were frequently based on devoting more time to think than to act to come out from mazes of comfort zones in the short term and establish priorities with restrictions in the long-term turbulence. Many complex organizations and countries use energies to unblock the present by projecting the future. Such Center of Advanced Studies will also carry out institutional activities with the participation of leaders and members of the board in regular meetings with relevant representatives in the country and/or abroad. The subject of competitiveness, internationalization, scenarios and prospects may include in the future work areas and several multi-disciplinary programs in research, graduate teaching and extension transversally in departments and academic programs of the University. Initial programs and subjects will include, at the first, the following: a) Courses on business development, small and medium size enterprises and entrepreneur management. b) Seminars on national and international scenarios and circumstances and their impact on directors, managers, businesspeople and government officials. The areas of public sector, external sector, investment, growth, inflation, institutions, monetary and financial sector and employment, municipalities and provinces, among others, will be analyzed. c) Preparation and implementation within the CEAPEC of a S&M-Size Enterprises Observatory and of an International Observatory to examine situations and perspectives from case analysis. d) Continued education in the form of courses, seminars and/or masters, workshops and conferences in the area of management, government, education, health, technology, employment, gender, culture, environment, cities and habitat, regional development and strategic management, among others.
